In the following guide, you'll learn how to get the most out of your products by providing key information that helps grab the attention of Fy! customers.

Product Titles

Creating the right product title is vital to ensure your products appear in the customers search results. In order for this to happen, you must include the correct metadata.

Please see below for how we suggest you title your products on Fy for maximum impact:

Collection (optional) + Product Name + Type of product + Colour (optional) + Material (optional) + Set of ## (for sets of products) + Other attributes (optional)



  • Colour, Material and Other Attributes are all optional but we encourage them to be included for more search visibility - as customers may be looking for specifics.
  • Please use "-" in-between added feature types, and "/" between features of the same type e.g Fantasia Leaves Round Rug-  Silver/ Blue - Cotton

How to optimise your Product Titles:

  • Focus on the main words (the keywords) and imagine yourself as a customer and what they may search to find said item on Google or other search engines.
  • Be descriptive and make sure the product name reflects the main qualities of the item.
  • Do not use multiple terms that all mean the same thing, this is known as keyword stuffing.
  • Do not include dimensions, prices and sizes in the product title - these should be added to the product description.

Product Descriptions

This is the information thats explains what the product is and why the customer should buy it - it's important to be as detailed as possible to ensure shoppers can easily understand the features and benefits to help them with their purchase.

Product descriptions should be well optimised for search and written with customers in mind. This is key to convert on-site traffic and helps minimise returns and issues for orders.

How to optimise your product descriptions:

  • Focus on your target audience and the type of buyer you're aiming to appeal to.
  • Tone is important, keep it informal.
  • Ensure the description contains product keywords
  • Establish information hierarchy: the first 145- 180 characters is what will show in the truncated description - ensure all the key information is within here.
  • Include a balance between the product's features and benefits to speak to the Fy! customer.
  • Include a long-tail of keyword phrases that customers may search for to find the product - avoid repeating keywords that refer to the same thing.
  • If it's a best selling product from your collection, let the customer know to build confidence.
  • If it's a less well known product, bulk up the information you provide to build confidence.
  • Include storytelling to make the description more engaging, the Fy! customers love being able to talk about their products and why they are unique.

Images

Accurate, descriptive and clear imagery is the key to capturing customers attention, it helps improve the sale opportunity and lowers the chances of items being returned. There are three key types of imagery which we believe should be included on your product pages to best appeal to the Fy! customer.

Main Image (P1):

This is the first image customers will see and should be thought as of the primary image. It will be visible as customers browse the site, scroll through the app or shop from a search engine.

  • Make sure it is an accurate portrayal of the product, its colour, size and any other important features.
  • Front or isometric views are preferred.
  • The product should be seen as a whole, on its own on a neutral background.
  • Please do not use lifestyle images as the Main image, with the exception of Bedding, for which the item can be included in a specific context.

Important Notice: Please remember that all images go through an editing process in which we remove the background and replace it with Fy!'s characteristic grey (#f6f6f6). We do accept images of products in a lifestyle context as long as the item to be cut out is clearly visible, not pixelated and seen from a front or isometric view.

This is done to ensure continuity across products on Fy! and build up trust and confidence with customers.

Detail Images:

These are images showing off key details or alternative views of the product from different angles - we recommend having a number of these to cover all bases.


Lifestyle Images:

It's important to give customers an idea of how the product sits in a natural habitat in order to:

  • Help customers envisage the product in their own home
  • Provide inspiration on how to style a look around the product

The environment depicted should have enough elements so the real size of the product is perceived and styling ideas can be inferred by the customer.


The importance of Lifestyle images:

Lifestyle images are of high importance as they play a huge role in persuading the customer to purchase your item.

If you have fantastic lifestyle images for your products it also means:

  • You are more likely to be featured on the Feed and Homepage
  • You will get additional exposure in social marketing and channels and our campaign emails
  • You will rank higher in our category edits

Submitting Images and Image quality:

When submitting your images, it is important to name them clearly after the product. Ideally, you should name them after the Designer code  or Brand SKU, this is the code you use to identify products internally and helps our Production team match the images to the products in the linesheet. You can also name them after the product name, just make sure the name you choose makes the product easy to identify.
